Everyone knows these are confusing times. It can be difficult to know who to trust. However, there is one thing that no one in the Furriners office disputes - and it's not that Justin Bieber never should have cut his bangs, Elijah! - it's that I am a man's man. I like my passing game vertical and the front of the net cleared. Of course, this means I think - nay, I know - that Roger Goodell is turning the NFL into a sissy league. In fact, the only person more of a pussy than Goodell is Harold Ford, Jr. I will not argue about this. It is a fact.
Hence, I was disturbed by the question that I just found on ESPN.com. The question is:
Who is the dirtier player?
A) James Harrison
B) Ndamukong Suh
C) Neither is a dirty player
Like Rick Perry, this is a no brainer. The answer is C. The ANSWER is C. The answer IS C. Anything else is lunacy... like Michelle Bachmann.
So how is that 87% of the respondents picked either Harrison or Suh?!? I will not even elaborate on the breakdown. It does not matter. They are equally and unequivocally wrong. Period. Unless we're playing flag football, which the NFL is getting dangerously close to under the Goodell stewardship, neither is a dirty player.
I am with the 13%. The rest of ya'll can watch Justin Bieber and Harold Ford, Jr. and decide who would prevail in a fight between those two. FYI: my money would be on Bieber.
If we weren't so informed we might be Republicans. Or Matt Leinart fans.

In Defense Of Chris Christie
I hate to go all Harold Ford, Jr. and argue for Republicans but I am going to make my first post of 2011 a curveball of sorts and do just that.
Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ) has been taking all kinds of heat for being on vacation during the recent blizzard (Snow-Pocalypse 2010). Even the recently very non-partisan Jon Stewart commenced 2011 by taking a little shot at Governor Christie:
All I know is if we had a storm in Michigan and everyone has taking shots at Governor Jennifer Granholm - I absolutely would've defended her. Ever heard of a phone?!?! I might've been inclined to quip. So, unless Gov. Christie was the only one with the keys to the garage where they keep the snow plows, I would more inclined to say Governor Christie is gone? Good! Perhaps we should turn out the lights and pretend we all left so maybe he won't come back?
I mean, seriously, he is the governor dealing with a blizzard. Blizzards happen every year! There has to be a plan in place to deal with this situation and I am fairly certain it doesn't involve the governor single-handedly plowing the roads of Newark or Trenton or Hoboken or Teaneck. In fact, I'm willing to bet that Chris Christie would not even shovel his own friggin' driveway! Now Jennifer Granholm... of course, she does!

We wouldn't just blow out of town right when important sh!t was going down... we're not the Governor of New Jersey!

I Propose A Trade
Last night, I happened to catch a bit of The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell. He had on Meghan McCain to talk about the House's latest attempt to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell.
Ms. McCain again reiterated her strong support for repeal of DADT and for marriage equality for the LGBT community.
As I watched it, I could not help but think a trade is in order... would not everyone be happier if the Democrats/liberals & progressives swapped Harold Ford, Jr. to the Republicans/conservatives & teabaggers for Meghan McCain?
Would Meghan make a good Democrat? No, absolutely not. But neither does Mary Landrieu or Blanche Lincoln and certainly neither does Harold Ford, Jr.! Mr. Ford is what we refer in the fantasy sports world as "expendable" (it is also what Dick Cheney calls U.S. soldiers... allegedly).

This would be the best trade I have made since acquiring Patrick Jeffers early in the 1999 fantasy football season.

Harold Ford, Jr. Is A Quitter
I am a semi-regular casual viewer of Meet The Press.
One of the most frequent roundtable guests is former congressman Harold Ford, Jr. (D-TN). I finally noticed yesterday that he is billed as Chair of the Democratic Leadership Council. I have no idea what that is but I really do not want this guy as a spokesman for anything having to do with the Democratic Party. He always comes across as Republican-Lite and I am tired of his wishy-washy bullshit. (I wonder if Jon Stewart likes Mr. Ford? He seems to be the epitome of can we PLEASE compromise? Is there ANYTHING I can do for you, Mr. Republican so we can make a deal?) He makes me want to jump through the TV and yell at him "Is there anything worth fighting for, Mr. Ford?!?!"
In fact, I just did a YouTube search on Mr. Ford to find an example of him being the wishy-washy pussy I accused him of being in the previous paragraph. I found something much more damning: check this out.
